A recent study shows that children do not get enough sleep at night can be a slight increase in blood pressure following day, even when they are not overweight or obese.
The study included 143 children between the ages of 10-18 with normal weight and without sleep apnea.
The results show that lack of sleep is only 1 hour / night may also lead to increased 2 mm / Hg in systolic
blood pressure and an increase of 1 mm / Hg diastolic pressure.
Enough sleep on weekends can help improve blood pressure at a certain level, but not enough to reverse the entire affected, a research team from the University of Hong Kong said. So although the overall impact of sleep deprivation on blood pressure is small, but it can affect the risk of heart disease in the future.
The researchers speculated that lack of sleep can increase stress hormones, which are known to affect blood pressure.
The study was published in the journal Pediatrics 16/12 days.
